ReplyDeleteI knew some weeks ago that you'd resumed posting here but I wanted to remain quiet until I'd had a chance to read all the new material. And I couldn't do that, obviously, until I'd revisited the first five chapters... which I have now done.
What a treat it is to see the tales appearing again! The new story is a lot of fun, and I will now follow it faithfully. I particularly enjoyed the passing reference to Agnes Morison-Atherton. And since Easter is nearly upon us (and I do like eggs)... is there any connection between the Drysdales who built Patrick's San Francisco house (and later relocated to Beverly Hills) and Jed Clampett's banker?
Just curious. I know I'm not supposed to be... but I am. :-)
Pipa may have a piece, a small piece of Ba-kla-va for finding that egg. Yes Drysdale and Hathaway in the story were references to the other Drysdale and Hathaway. I am pleased that you found the stories of interest. I am working away at the next chapter for Friday, hoping to have it ready.

ReplyDeleteFor those who care, yes, I have dredged up all my old notes regarding Tuesday's and Wednesday's quest, first time I've reviewed that stuff since Emma's last visit to her blog. And with some luck, I may be able to produce some new material worth looking at. :-)
As I recall, Tuesday and Wednesday almost found themselves on their way to Gor too. I'm curious to see just who sent them those slave anklets since they have made themselves known to a few different slavers

It would stick for a minute if I exit and return, but no more than a minute. I don’t understand the algorithm that decides my comment is spam. I use my Google account and I have posted in your blog before. Since Arizona Wanderer started posting additional chapters hours after my request, I wanted to give him a couple of specific suggestions, even though the story was excellent without the suggestions.

ReplyDelete(1) I reread the first 20 chapters of The Paga Diaries. Thank you for encouraging Arizona Wanderer to continue after almost every chapter and for inviting him in May to finish the Diaries on your blog.
(2) I came to your blog in August to finish After the Bighorn since it was part of Emma’s universe. I am a science fiction fan, not a fan of westerns. I like sword wielding warriors, not cowboys. You’ve put a lot of effort into your writing, you edit your writing and you keep to a schedule, all commendable.
(3) I originally posted in your blog at the end of September when I saw a continuity error in a story borrowing characters and concepts from Emma. I added a short paragraph introducing myself. To my amazement, Arizona Wanderer responded to my wish for more Diaries. The knowledge that there was a second reader pushed him over the tipping point.
(4) Thank you for the tremendous work formatting and publishing two other weekly writers. While I followed Black Beauty, I’ve been blown away by Verna’s Journey. Vita was somewhat fascinating as the programmed tool of Udumi Ayeola; Verna is memorizing. She chooses the forest over Marlenus, talks to tarns, enslaves a warrior after dropping her weapon and drinks in a Paga tavern wearing animal skins, a visible brand and earrings. Crespus Tartarus, warrior of Ar, bored by the naked kajirae around them, talks with her and wants to continue the conversation in Ar,
(5) Udumi Ayeola is one of the few surviving characters of Olga Turlovna’s Daughter of Gor, kidnaps Eric (later Emma) Anderson in chapter one of Mistress of Gor and is a Kurii agent in London. Perhaps Wyandotte Frick or Patrick Masters will encounter her.

ReplyDelete(1) I just saw your email. I’ve been busy since 6:30 am EST reviewing an early copy of The Paga Diaries (28) AW emailed me. I read Emma’s site in July and found your site because you posted numerous times in the comments to Emma’s site. At first, I simply noted them, but eventually the desire for content led me to check out your site. Although courtroom dramas are not my genre, I knew your writing from Emma’s site.
(2) It’s good that you analyze your site. Emma is surprised that she got almost 2 million views during her 14 month break. Her site comes up second for “Gor fan fiction” Number One has forty entries. I started to read one entry. It was okay, but AW, Paladin, Pauline and you are better. Some of the entries have a warning NOT to read if you are a Gor fan. Fiction Mania had a flag for authors to indicate whether a work was complete. I suspect some of Emma’s readers only read completed works. And she has a lot of “completed” even if Slaver of Gor ends with Amicia Katares naked and alone in the wilderness.
(3) I am delighted to provide feedback. I enjoyed reading comment sections sometimes more than Emma’s post. I was going to review Tarl of Turin when Emma returned. I hope some of my comments might be interesting to future readers.

ReplyDeleteYes, it's me. I really do have a good reason for being silent for so long, so I hope to be forgiven. It all has to do with the ravages of time.
Some of you are aware that I serve as GM of the continuing 'Warlords of Gor' rpg which started out years ago on the Tavern Keeper site... and which has taken up a semi-nomadic existence since that platform ceased to operate. This occupies a fair amount of my free time, which leads me to do a lot of my recreational Gor reading in binges. My predecessor as GM was our dear friend Emma, so our game's timeline is pretty well fixed within the chronology of the Emmaverse. Specifically, our events are occurring in the autumn of 2024; Emma's 'Roland' trilogy is set in 2025.
So... I have just binged the present year's 'Drysdale House' chapters (and the related 'Scipio' offering), and I enjoyed the tale greatly. If memory serves, the events described took place in 2016. We have seen that Patrick has some interest in enslaving his enemy Chelsea when the term of her Emery companionship expires in three years (so, in 2019-ish).
I'm intrigued with what might have befallen Chelsea Frick (aka Lady Savanna) in the years between the conclusion of her Emery contract and her journey - as described in the Roland novels - to Gor. It occurs me that Patrick and Roland may be faced with an overlapping - maybe even a conflict - of interests here. :-)
Hi, Pipa, Glad you enjoyed the binge on the Drysdale and Scipio adventures. As Drysdale and Anthropologist go into 2017, I expect we shall see more of Patrick and Scipio (that old rogue is one of my favourite characters to write, such a scoundrel). I need to at least get the Anthropologists to Gor before returning to Patrick or perhaps looking at the first parts of Leith, the former flight attendant in the (spoiler) eastern forests.

O7, Section VI.With Tracker’s permission, I’ve used his dialogue from Anthropologist of Gor, Book 1 (4). In my humble opinion, his dialogue works so much better as dialogue among an Ubara, a high Pleasure Slave and a BDSM masochist as they multitask than as dialogue between two middle age professors who keep their clothes on.
